Svetlana Kondakova Muir
My main practice is public art, I create large-scale sculpture and mosaic murals focusing on the natural environment, wildlife, community and heritage.
My background is in painting and my studio practice has for a long time centred on portraiture. I am fascinated by mythology and folklore, often translating these narratives into contemporary contexts to create paintings which speak of timeless and universal issues. More recently I have been exploring themes of nature and wildlife and expanding to sculpture and other mediums, linking my studio practice with my public art work.
